I am a big fan of Nordic Naturals and have blogged multiple times about their products and their campaigns. Today I am sharing about their new Back to School Essentials program which supports the US Literacy Program from the non-profit Save the Children. Save the Children works all over the world, including the United States. The Literacy Program allows kids to advance their reading skills by providing leveled books, daily read-alouds, fluency-building activities, emergent reader activities, learning materials, literacy games, computers, and tutorials, along with support.

 

 

From July 1st- September 30, when you purchase certain Nordic Naturals products, including Baby’s DHA, Children’s DHA, Omega-3.6.9. Junior, Ultimate Omega Junior, and/or Nordic Berries, $1 from every product will be donated to this program. Every child should be given the tools to become a reader. Reading not only teaches, but inspires imagination and promotes curiosity. Being able to read also opens opportunities for furthering education and applying for jobs. When kids have hope, they can believe in something worth living for. I continually work with my kids on reading, but not everybody is able to do that. It is awesome that a non-profit can step in and help children that need it.
