I often have people ask me what steps they can take in order to live a more natural lifestyle. One thing I tell them is to find one area in their life that they want to change and to start with that. I am going to be addressing different themes throughout the year, which will give you ideas for living a more natural lifestyle. Each month I will feature chemical free alternatives, DIY projects, recipes, and ideas to help eliminate toxins from our everyday lives.
Here are the themes for the next couple of months.
Candy/Sweets
Cleaning
Beauty
Feminine Hygiene
This year I will also be reformulating my newsletter to go out every Saturday, so you will get a newsletter once a week. You can subscribe in the right hand column.
I look forward to going on this journey with you!
What areas are you wanting to make a change to natural alternatives?

When my family moved into our new apartment last summer, we made a decision that we would keep our home clean. Our weekly cleaning routine was born. We made a cleaning routine that involved the whole family.
Every Saturday morning my family cleans our apartment. My kids are in charge of dusting and helping where needed, my husband does the floors, and I clean the bathrooms and the kitchen. I am very purposeful with what cleaning products I chose to use when my family cleans. I don’t want to breathe in those chemicals that are commonly found in cleaners, let alone my kids. I choose to use natural cleaners.
One recent addition to my approved line of cleaning products is Greenshield Organic. Previously I had used their detergent and posted a review almost four years ago. You can read it here. Now I am using their All Purpose Cleaner.

Have you wondered what will happen to your old sofa or chair when you decide it’s time to replace it? While many of us choose to donate our unwanted furniture to charity or sell it online, a lot of used furniture eventually ends up in a landfill. In fact, 4.1 percent of all household waste is discarded furniture, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
Consumer demand for new furniture pieces is not only choking landfills, but is also contributing to deforestation. If you are an ardent recycler, and are concerned about creating a smaller carbon footprint and being environmentally conscious, recycling your old furniture is a smart idea.
Re-upholstering your old furniture is not that difficult, and you can save money by doing the work yourself. The process of re-upholstery creates a lot less waste than producing new furniture. By renewing your existing furniture through re-upholstery, you can address the issue of sustainability, save money, and lead a more environmentally friendly lifestyle.

In need of a last minute stocking stuffer? Real Kids Shades have the perfect sunglasses for your children. Their goal is protect as many kids’ eyes as possible from the damaging effects of UV radiation. These glasses are designed specifically for kids and provide 100% UVA/UVB protection. Real Kids Shades are affordable and made with high quality materials.
My kids like wearing sunglasses, especially when they are riding in the car. One of my kids is always in the sun when we are driving somewhere. I realized that they needed to have access to sunglasses in the car. I was first introduced to Real Kids Shades back when my kids were 3 & 4. They liked wearing sunglasses all the time! Now they realize that there are times when sunglasses are needed and beneficial.
