  1. Take Apart Your Bed

An unpleasant reality of bed bugs is that they infest every area of the bed, including the frame, headboard and box springs. You’ll need to turn your entire bed area inside out if you want to find them all. Shaking your mattress is only the first step.

  1. Vacuum Your Entire Room

While they’re most common in the bed area, bed bugs can also turn up in the fibers of carpets and the cracks of walls. Remember, too, that it only takes a few missed bed bugs to start a brand new infestation. If you’re serious about eliminating these pests once and for all, you’ll need to make sure that not a single one remains in your room.

  1. Dry Your Sheets

Bed bugs can’t survive in extreme heat, so send all of your blankets tumbling through the dryer. You’ll also want to give your sheets, comforters and pillowcases a spin. This should be done after your bed area has been disinfected and all of the eggs have been removed or killed; otherwise the bed bugs will just crawl back into your sheets once they’re re-fitted onto your mattress.

  1. Use Natural Products

If you would like the strength and reliability of a professional pesticide, look into a natural bed bug killer that doesn’t contain chemicals and additives. Companies like EcoRaider pride themselves on their “green” products that are effective against pests and non-damaging to the environment.

  1. Consider Natural Oils

Bed bugs hate natural oils; while experts aren’t sure why, the hypothesis is that the smell or the texture drives them away. Regardless of the reason, you can use this aversion to your advantage by dabbing lavender, peppermint or tea tree oil around your bed. The bed bugs won’t want to come anywhere near it. These are just a few ways to eliminate bed bugs that won’t fill your home with chemicals. If you’re serious about all-natural and eco-friendly ways to get rid of household pests, these are the steps you’ll want to take.

Also using diatomaceous earth food grade with a spreader to blow under wall cracks can help with the spray is how I was able to get rid of them. . I had been traveling and picked them up at a hotel . If they cant bite you they will bite your pets too.
