I have always been a big fan of bread! I know that may sound funny, but I love wheat and sourdough bread. There are so many ways to use bread, but today I want to talk about sandwiches. Since I don’t eat a lot of meat, I mostly deal with vegetarian sandwiches.
Oroweat is known for their bread, but their newest additions are organic. Available in both Grains & Seeds and 100% Whole Wheat, the organic breads are now available at a store near you! Both breads are made with all organic ingredients and whole grains.
In the morning my kids like egg sandwiches that my husband invented. First I cook an egg over medium in my cast iron skillet. Depending on the child, I toast the Whole Wheat bread. Then I add a layer of homemade strawberry jam. Once the egg is done, I add it to the bread and viola, the egg sandwich is done. This is simple to make and is a great start to my kid’s day.
Another favorite for my kids is PB&J on wheat bread!
I prefer to have a sandwich for lunch. One of my favorite lunches is a veggie stack sandwich. This is simple to make and works well as a lunch to take with me to work. To make this sandwich you will need a variety of your favorite organic veggies, cheese, spices, and condiments. I prefer cucumber, tomato, lettuce, red bell pepper, red onion, goat cheese, and oregano. Thinly slice all the veggies and pile them as high as you want on one piece of bread. On the other slice, add the goat cheese and oregano, then add it to the top. Yummy!
