Natural Laundry Powder for Cloth Diapers

Product was given to me in order to post my honest opinion.

I used to cloth diaper both of my kids. Washing those dirty diapers was not the funnest thing to do, but a frequent necessity. Finding the right detergent was always on my mind. I no longer use cloth diapers since my kids are potty trained. Just because my kids are potty trained, doesn’t mean we don’t have the occasional accident.

Earlier this year I was able to review Molly’s Suds Laundry Detergent and I am happy to announce that they just released a special cloth diaper detergent! Molly’s Suds is a wonderful company dedicated to creating all natural laundry and cleaning products. I was actually able to meet up with them at Expo West Earlier this year. I was interested in their Cloth Diaper Powder because not every detergent is able to get out the ammonia smell left behind in clothes and sheets after an accident.

Molly’s Suds is a mom-owned company that offers a natural laundry and cloth diaper detergents. Molly’s Suds Laundry Powder rated an “A” in the EWG Cleaning Guide. Molly’s Suds Cloth Diaper Laundry Powder is free of essential oils, fragrance, enzymes or dyes. In accordance with certain cloth diaper warranties, they omitted all ingredients that can void a warranty or irritate baby’s skin. The powder can be used on all baby clothes, bedding, tough stains and more. The Ingredients consist of a proprietary blend of sodium carbonate sourced tom the Green River Basin in Wyoming, sodium percarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, unrefined sea salt. There are no fillers, no enzymes, no anti-caking agents or any free-flowing additives or conditioners. There are also no optical brighteners or GMO ingredients. The powder is both gluten free and nut free. The cloth diaper powder is biodegradable, certified vegan and certified Cruelty Free by Leaping Bunny.

Every now and then, my kids will have an accident in the middle of the night. Now that we will in an apartment with no washer and dryer right inside, sometimes the dirty sheets wait a day before I have time to wash them. Sometimes those sheets and wet clothes can smell pretty bad. I was super impressed the first time I used the Cloth Diaper Laundry Powder. The sheets came out of the wash smelling like nothing! The pee-soaked pajamas also came out stink-free. The real test for me was that they came out of the hot dryer smelling clean. I have used other detergents to clean pee-soaked clothes and they didn’t smell after the wash, but after they got out of the dryer they smelled like pee again. I assume this happened because the detergent just didn’t work to remove the smell. Today I had to do another load of wet sheets and some pee soaked clothes and had the same wonderful results! No stink and clean laundry!

If you are looking for a cloth diaper detergent, I recommend Molly’s Suds Cloth Diaper Laundry Powder. You can buy it online for $14.99. The bag can do 64 high efficiency loads or 32 regular loads. To wash your cloth diapers, it is best to do a pre-wash and follow all directions on the package. Here is more specific info about caring for your cloth diapers.
