I’m glad that the weather is cooling down because I get to drink more hot tea! I try to make some every morning so I can drink it on my way to work. I am also a big fan of green teas and I love finding new green tea flavors to try. Tea Gallerie carries a wide variety of loose leaf teas for both adults and kids, as well as blooming flower teas. All of their teas are organic and fair trade. Did you know that loose leaf teas are actually better for you? Loose leaf teas are made up of handpicked leaves from the first tea buds from the tea plant. It’s then sifted and whatever is left over is what is used in most tea bags.
I was sent three teas to review: Green Pomegranate, Sicilian Lemon Love, and a kids tea called Bubby Blueberry. Like I already said, I am a huge fan of green teas, so I always go straight to the green tea section when trying out new teas. Green teas have the highest amount of antioxidants, therefore keeping your body running well and preventing illness. According to Tea Gallerie, “University researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Also, green tea is a good source of vitamins and minerals, strengthens tooth enamel, and regulates blood sugar. Finally, the powerful beverage aids digestion, which can promote effective weight loss.” I will drink {green tea} to that! {Source}
The Green Pomegranate loose leaf tea is made with sencha green tea leaves, raspberries and pomegranate. All you need is 1 tsp. per cup. Steep for 2-3 minutes. The Sicilian Lemon Love is made with Chinese green tea leaves, Sicilian lemons, and peaches. Again, all you need is 1 tsp. per cup. Steep for 2-3 minutes. Both of these contain low to medium caffeine levels. The teas both smell amazing. I really like the subtle peach flavor in the Sicilian Lemon Love tea.
When selecting a tea for my kids, I went with blueberry because they love blueberries! The Bubby Blueberry tea contains blueberries, pomegranates, apples, elderberries, and more. The tea turns purple when it is steeped. You can use 1-2 tsp. per cup. Steep for 5-7 minutes. This tea contains no caffeine.
My kids are already going wild for this tea! They want it every day now! It is sweet and fruity and I know that it is chalk full of antioxidants and vitamins. I will gladly serve my kids tea everyday because it doesn’t have artificial colors or preservatives in it, nor does it have any sugar.
You can buy their tea online and if you live in San Diego, you can visit their store where they have more than 200 loose leaf teas. they also host monthly tea tastings, tea parties and educational workshops. So stop in and try a cup of tea {+ free Wi-Fi}!
