I love burning candles in my home, especially once the weather outside has gotten a little cooler. There is something cozy about burning a candle in the Fall and Winter time. I prefer to use more natural candles made of soy or beeswax and scented with essential oil, over fragrance oils.

Mountain Laurel Naturals has created a line of natural soy candles made with 100% soy and essential oils. No fragrance oils, dyes, or toxins can be found in their products. Soybeans are a natural, renewable source as opposed to candles made of petroleum. Wax candles are made of petroleum, a nonrenewable source, and contain toxic carcinogenic substances. While the candle burns, those toxins are released into the air. By eliminating petroleum and fragrance oils, and burning candles made of soy and essential oils, no toxins will be released.

Burn Soy Candles this Holiday Season

Another benefit to burning soy over other candles is that they burn longer due to their cooler burning temperature. Their slow burn means that the candle will last longer. Soy also holds the scent of essential oils longer.

I was sent one of their Holiday candles, Spiced Eggnog. I am personally not a fan of drinking eggnog, but the candle smells sweet and spicy which is perfect for the holidays! How do you make “eggnog” with essential oils? By combining different oils, Mountain Laurel Naturals was able to create a pleasing scent that smells similar to eggnog. They used a combination of clove, vanilla, all spice, and cardamom, to name a few.

I have burned my candle 3-4 times already and I love how the smell travels throughout my home. When I burn it, I feel relaxed and at ease. I definitely want to try more of their candles for the Fall and Winter.

You can purchase their candles online for $15. They currently have three scents: Spiced Eggnog, Bayberry and Peppermint, and Lavender & Vanilla.

I haven’t used candles at all for a very long time due to the toxins. I know there are companies that do make healthy candles but I’m too lazy to look for them or they are really expensive. That’s why it’s great you do this post. This company sounds great and they are affordable!

I love candles, but don’t burn many other than tea lights. I love these as a gift idea!
