Natural Patchouli Rosewood Deodorant ~ Consistency of a Cream, but comes in a Stick

Since my family moved, I honestly do not sweat as much as I used to. To compare the weather, for example, the high for today was 68 here and 87 where I used to live. You can see that there is quite a difference there! I now live on the coast, so it stays cooler her. So when I was sent a sample of Lavender Deodorant, I thought that I wouldn’t be able to put it to the test. But then I remembered that when I exercise, I still get hot and sweaty. My Lavender Deodorant has kept me smelling fresh throughout my workouts and throughout my days.

Natural Patchouli Rosewood Deodorant ~ Consistency of a Cream, but comes in a Stick

Lavender sent me their Patchouli Rosewood Deodorant.

It is made with:

Patchouli – antiseptic, sensual and effective for calming skin irritations.
Rosewood – antiseptic, sensual and relaxing.
Geranium – antiseptic, effective for sensitive skin and shrinks tissues.
Lavender – antiseptic, soothing and kills bacteria.

Lavender‘s deodorant also contains oils for the skin including Shea butter, almond oil and coconut butter. It also contains sodium bicarbonate and essential oils that are active ingredients that prevent sweat smell for hours. Lavender‘s scents are call created with pure essential oils and blends. Their deodorant is not an antiperspirant and does not contain aluminum. Nor does it contain talc or magnesium silicate powder or any parabens. And lastly, Lavender’s products are never tested on animals.

The deodorant works really well and is actually a little different than any other deodorant I have tried. It is a soft cream, yet still in a stick. You really don’t need to apply that much to see how well it works. I promise you that I have smelled my armpits after running and I can still smell the patchouli and lavender! It truly keeps me smelling fresh and I do feel clean when I am wearing it.

Check out Lavender’s natural deodorants and the other products that they have to offer! You can also follow them on .
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I am a Boys & Girls Club Back-to-School Ambassador ~ Learn how you can help the BGCA by shopping at jcpenny

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

Through my blog I have been introduced to the Boys and Girls Club of America. I had previously heard of them, but never really knew anything about them till I started working with Mom Central and was given opportunities to write about them. My family recently moved and due to my blog, I knew that the Boys and Girls Club would be a great place for my son to go after Kindergarten since we no longer live near family. Their after school program would be perfect for my son since he gets out of school at 1:30 and I won’t be done substitute teaching till after 3.

The BGCA offers many programs for kids including after-school, summer, sports, and more. They open their doors for kids and youth to have a safe place to make friends, play, do homework, play sports, and be mentored.  On my local BGCA page, it says their mission statement is: “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential, as productive, caring and responsible citizens.”

The BGCA has partnered with jcpenney for the ‘jcpenney cares round up campaign.’ For the month of July, if you round-up your purchase to the nearest whole dollar while shopping at jcpenney, you can help make a difference in supporting after school programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. 100% of donations raised will go towards BGCA. Do you shop at jcpenny? I encourage you to ‘round up’ the next time you make a purchase.

The BGCA does so many great things for the community, it is nice that there is a way to give back. For more information on the BGCA and jcpenney ‘round up campaign’ – please click here: www.greatfutures.org/backtoschool.

In a few weeks I will be posting some back to school tips as well as an additional way you can help the BGCA!

I loved making my own baby food when my kids were little! It was nice to know that my babies were literally eating just fresh fruits and veggies and nothing else was in there! It is not hard to make your own food, especially if you have a Bullet because the jars are small and easy to use.

The Baby Bullet Complete System comes with a batch bowl, power base, date-dial cups, short cups, stay fresh lids, blend blade, milling blade, nutrition guide, the pocket nutritionist and the user manual.

Nourishmat ~ A New Way to Garden

Do you want to grow your own garden? Interested in harvesting your own veggies and herbs? Think you don’t know enough about gardening to get started? Check out the newly developed Nourishmat by Earth Starter. Planting is easy. The mat comes labeled with openings for the seedballs. You can even order your mat to come with a hook up for your hose so it can water your plants for you!

Earth Starter was developed by Phil and John who took two years to create this US made product. It is an amazing new way to grow your own vegetables, herbs, and flowers and is designed for people with small spaces and limited time. The Nourishmat is only 4′ x 6′ and the Herbmat is 2′ x 6′. The Nourishmat comes with 19 herb and vegetable types, 82 seedballs, and the option of a built in irrigation. The Herbmat comes with 8 herb varieties and 32 seedballs, as well as the option of a built in irrigation.

Some features include:

  • Reusable – The mats can be used multiple times and will last about 5 years. Seed balls can be reordered.
  • Scalable – The mat can be cut to fit your gardening area.
  • Planting Info- Know exactly when to plant your seeds using their handy guide.
  • Weed Barrier- The mat itself will keep weeds at bay!
  • Seedballs – Seeds are encased in clay and compost so they stay moist, won’t blow away, or be eaten by birds. Plus you don’t have to start them inside or dig to plant them.

Seedballs are a mixture of clay, earth worm castings, chili powder to keep away pests, and non-GMO seeds.

You can read more about the Earth Starter and get a Nourishmat or Herbmat for yourself on KickStarter. With a desire to keep production of Nourishmat in the US, pledges through KickStarter will go directly towards funding inventory, launching more comprehensive marketing campaigns, and continued product development.
