Barleans Greens: Chocolate or Fruity? {Review/Sponsor Spotlight} #WhatYouEatHop

I am a huge fan of Barleans! I met up with them at the NPA Marketplace in Las Vegas this past June. This company produces omega-3 fatty acids supplements in organic oil form and other healthy supplement options. This family company once started as a fishery and eventually turned into what it is today, although they still sell fish to locals. I recently did a review of their Kids Omega-3 Swirl Supplement; my kids love this “Lemonade Smoothie”.

I was recently sent their Greens to try. I enjoy finding new supplements for my  kids, but it’s great to find something that I can add to my diet! Barleans produces 4 types of Greens: Organic, Berry, Chocolate Silk and Suferfruit. I was sent the Chocolate Silk and the Superfruit to review. Both Greens are gluten free and contain no GMOs. These Greens both contain probiotics and enzymes that aid digestion.

The Superfruit Greens is a strawberry-kiwi flavor. It has 8 fruits and vegetables per serving. Just add one scoop to water and mix well. I have found that shaking the water and mix together works better than just stirring. These Greens remind me of a vitamin drink.

  • Perfect super-nutrition for the whole family – kid’s love it!
  • More than 60 super foods and supplements
  • Delicious All-Natural Strawberry-Kiwi Flavor
  • MEGA 8,000 ORAC antioxidant value per serving
  • Perfect replacement for sugar-laden juices and sodas.
  • Dairy and Soy-Free

The Chocolate Silk tastes like chocolate milk! I add a scoop to 8 oz of almond milk every morning and love it! There are more than 5 servings of vegetables in a scoop. To be honest, I can’t even taste the veggies! I have been drinking this every morning for a couple of weeks as my breakfast and I have found that it keeps me full till lunch. I am not claiming that it will do the same for you, but this is a great breakfast for me, especially since the shaker I have has a mouth piece. I can just add the almond milk, add the scoop of greens, place the lid on and shake it together on my way to the car.

  • More than 50 super foods and supplements
  • MEGA 5,000 ORAC antioxidant value per serving
  • Delicious chocolate flavor made with 100% natural cocoa powder
  • Perfect super-nutrition for the whole family – kid’s love it!
  • Zero sugar – sweetened with all-natural stevia leaf extract
  • Perfect replacement for sugar-laden chocolate milk and hot chocolate
  • Delicious hot or cold
  • Dairy and Soy-Free

If I can sneak in more veggies and fruits into my day, I will take them. I try to eat a balanced diet, but a few extra veggies never hurt anyone. I have to say that I prefer the Chocolate over the Superfruit Greens! I do like the Choclate Silk for breakfast and the Superfruit as an afternoon snack…I guess it comes down to how I feel each day!

You can buy Barleans on their website and they are available at many health food stores! I saw these Greens at my local health food store the other day. The Superfruit and Chocolate Silk Greens cost $34.95 online.
