FlaxUSA ~ Flaxmilk, A Dairy Free Alternative {Review/Giveaway} Ends 9/18

My family is used to dairy milk alternatives. We currently drink organic unsweetened almond milk. My whole family uses it with cereal, I use it to make breakfast smoothies, and even use it for baking. While at the NPA Marketplace in Las Vegas in June, I came across FlaxUSA, a company that makes flax products. My husband and I were able to sample their flax milk, all three flavors: unsweetened, original and vanilla. Immediately, we could tell that the flax milk was a little more watery than almond milk, but tasted pretty good.

Flax USA

Flax USA begins with the finest quality flaxseed grown by select farmers. Our flax then endures a rigorous four-stage cleaning process ensuring only the best flaxseeds are packaged into our products. We take great pride in bringing Flax USA’s products from our fifth-generation family farm to your table. Enjoy eating healthy with our very best.  The Stobers

Once we got home, I was sent a full size of each flavor.  My kids weren’t fond of the flaxmilk in their cereal, but I think that is because almond milk tastes more like dairy milk, which they still have at school and other people’s houses. The flaxmilk does have a different taste so it might take you a while to switch over and get used to it. I have used the vanilla in our morning Banana Peanut Butter Chocolate smoothie. The recipe can be found HERE!

Made from the finest natural ingredients like cold pressed unrefined flax seed oil, whole golden milled flax seed and organic cane sugar, our Flax USA Flaxmilk is a balanced source of Omega-3 and Omega 6 “good fats”. Most diets are deficient in Omega-3 fatty acids, but our Flaxmilk delivers 1200mg per serving. Bursting with creamy, delicious flavor, Flaxmilk is Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Soy Free and Scrumptious. Just one taste and we think you will agree that our silky smooth flavor profile sets a brand new standard for the most delicious way to enjoy the power packed nutrition and goodness of Flax.

FlaxUSA has been in existence for over 100 years in the Stabler family. They are currently in their 5th generation of ownership and grow their Golden Omega Flax Seed in Goodrich, North Dakota. Flax is a grain and is known for its health benefits. Doctors recommend flax seed for people with high cholesterol, arthritis and many other health conditions. Flax seed is not a supplement, but a natural food that is low carb, low fat, high fiber and heart healthy.

Flaxmilk is an all natural dairy free beverage and is an easy way to drink your Omega’s. Flaxmilk is enriched with calcium and vitamins A, D, & B12. It contains 50/60 calories per serving depending on the type. There is as much calcium in flaxmilk as in dairy milk. Flaxmilk contains no cholesterol, no saturated fat and no trans fat.

FlaxUSA has a section on their website for recipes as well as a blog.  Did you know that you can substitute 1 Tbsp of ground Omega Golden Flax Seed plus 3 Tbsp water for 1 egg? Or did you know that 3 Tbsp ground Omega Golden Flax Seed equals 1 Tbsp margarine, butter or cooking oil? Flax is definitely a healthier option!

FlaxUSA also carries other flax products including Flax Sprinkles, Flax Oil, Flax Seeds, and flax for your pet. The best thing about Flax Sprinkles is that they can be added to pretty much anything, and you won’t even notice. This is great to add to your smoothies, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, salad, pasta, juice, ice cream, baked goods or any of your favorite foods. Your kids won’t notice it either if you sneak it into their food. The Sprinkles come in a convenient shaker package and have 2800mg of Omega-3 per serving. There is 3g of protein & 4g of fiber, as well as 0 trans fat and no cholesterol. The Flax Sprinkles have a 22 month shelf life. I use flax in our breakfast smoothies, my kids couldn’t tell I added them (because I used to make them without) and I am glad they are getting extra nutrients as they are developing.

You can buy Flaxmilk and other flax products on their website. The Flaxmilk is $3 in the tetra pak container. You can also find Flax USA products in many health food stores and my local Fresh and Easy carries their Original Flaxmilk, so maybe yours does too!

  1. The Stober’s farm dates back over 100 years. The flax seed that grows there is 100% natural – no GMOS!!! That is something good to know when buying a product. I adore families that have been passing down the farms (we grew up with two sets of Grandparents living and growing produce on farms!). I very much enjoy products that come from generations of know how. I just wish large companies realized it is possible to grow more without all of the GMOs.
