The Bulu Box is $10 a month, including shipping, and if you sign up for a year you will save $10. The Bulu box will be delivered every month to your door via USPS. My box included a variety of samples. One of my favorites was a full size Marz Sprays C Spray {valued at $20}. It is the perfect thing to have on hand if you need a boost, especially if you are feeling down or sick. It has Vitamin C, Echinacea, Zinc, Vitamin B12 & Vitamin D. I also enjoyed the Re-Body SafSlim packets made of high-linoleic safflower oil. Each packet is a serving that helps reduce belly fat when combined with diet and exercise. They are pretty tasty! I also tried the Herbal Papaya Organic Papaya Leaf Extract tea & capsules. Papaya is chalk full of antioxidants that help calm inflammation. The tea was really tasty! I wasn’t that fond of the Organic Vibrant Health Cleansing Lemonade! I bet if I was doing a cleanse, I would appreciate it more.  The Sunwarrior Warrior Blend Vegan Protein was tasty and gave me a sense of fullness. It also promotes muscle function and increases energy. This is perfect as I start to exercise more!

I enjoyed sampling these products and I am now aware of these products when I go shopping at my local health food store. I have seen some of these products before and now that I have sampled them, I would love to buy the full size and see if I like them in the long run. Barleans Kids Omega-3 Swirl Supplement {Review/Sponsor Spotlight} #GreenSchool

My kids are starting school this week! I am excited that they get to go to preschool, especially a play based preschool! I am doing all that I can in order to make sure that my kids are prepared for school. We have routines set in place for bedtime and mornings that will help our kids get plenty of sleep and give them plenty of time to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning. Included in this routine is vitamins and supplements.

I met up with Barleans at the NPA Marketplace in Las Vegas in June. This company produces omega-3 fatty acids supplements in organic oil form. This family company once started as a fishery and eventually turned into what it is today, although they still sell fish to locals. To read about the History of Barleans go HERE. It is very interesting and you will see why most of their products are made from flax.

Over a hundred and fifty years ago wild game, fish, eggs and whole grains were sources of Omega-3 fatty acids. Today the milling of grain removes the fatty acids. Other essential nutrients are added back into flour except the fatty acids because they reduce the shelf life of the flour. Laying hens, even the ones advertised as “free range,” have no access to Omega-3 fatty acids in their diet. Eggs now provide little Omega-3. Essential Omega-3 fats are missing from the food chain and Americans are paying a steep price for this in poor health.

http://www.barleans.com/images/products/KidsOmegaSwirl_lg.jpgI was given the Omega Kids Swirl in Lemonade flavor. It has a smoothie texture and consistency. One 8 oz. bottle contains 43 servings! My kids absolute love this! I give them each a teaspoon at a time and they never let me forget to give it to them. This is an Omega-3 Fish Oil Supplement. Omega-3 supports healthy brain and visual development and is made with Barlean’s Fresh Catch Fish Oil, which is a sustainable operation. It provides 360 mgs of EPA/DHA per serving. (To be honest, I haven’t tried it, but my kids love it! It doesn’t smell fishy either!)

I think it is important to realize that most kids are not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids in their diet. Omega-3 is really important to developing children and adults. It supports brain health and cognitive function, affects attention span and intelligence and promotes eye health through visual acuity. There are also studies that show that omega-3s give the ability to handle stress and promote calmness.

I want my children to succeed in life. I want to make sure that they are getting all the nutrients they need to promote growth physically and mentally. I don’t care if my kids are “smart” with straight A’s, but it does take a functioning mind (and body) to change the world and be a positive influence. I will continue using Barleans to make sure that my kids are not deficient in omega-3. I will also continue to look into vitamins and supplements that will keep my children healthy and fully functioning! (I believe that vitamins and supplements should be used with a balanced diet. Do not replace fruits and veggies with vitamins, rather let them supplement the deficiency.)

You can buy Barleans online on their website and they are available at many health food stores! I saw them in my local health food store the other day in the refrigerated section. The Omega Kids Swirl is $13.99 online.
