Gluten Free Grain Power Cookbook from the Quinoa Queens

While at Expo West I was invited to a Quinoa Cook Off at the Alter Eco booth. While I was there, I was able to meet Patricia Green and Carolyn Hemming, experts on Quinoa and otherwise known as the Quinoa Queens. I was given their recent cookbook, Grain Power: Over 100 Delicious Gluten-Free Ancient Grain & Superblend Recipes, to review.

This paperback cookbook features over 100 gluten free ancient grain recipes that are all under 500 calories. The book is filled with appetizing pictures to show off the great recipes.

 

Grain Power shows how simple it is to include ancient grains in everyday meals. The cookbook contains recipes for quinoa, millet, buckwheat, oats, and chia, as well as amaranth, kaniwa, sorghum, and teff. Eating these ancient grains adds fiber, complex carbs, and increased vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to your diet. Having a diet high in ancient grains can help you stay healthy, manage your weight, increase athletic performance, manage/prevent diabetes, and aide in any food intolerance and allergies.
