Inspire Young Minds to Learn French with Music

Are you trying to teach your child a new language? Whistlefritz is here to help you! My husband is in the process of learning French, so I thought it would be good for the kids to learn. My kids are 4 & 5 and I think one of the best ways to immerse my kids in the language would be through kids songs that they can sing along with.

I was sent Cha, Cha, Cha which is a 15-song collection from Whistlefritz the award-winning producers of language immersion CDs and DVDs for children. There are some traditional songs as well as songs about numbers, the days of the week, the months, and the seasons. The songs are performed by acclaimed singer Lynn Véronneau and set to Latin and Caribbean rhythms by versatile bandleader and composer Didier Prossaird.

When I first turned the music on, my son said, “What is this?” He was frustrated that he didn’t understand the words, so I had to explain to him that it was in French and that he would be able to learn French based on the songs. My 5 year old was stubborn and insisted that he didn’t know any of the words so I told him to just listen. A little later he said, “They are counting in French!” I knew he would catch on pretty quickly. My kids like listening to the music and I look forward to them being able to sing along and know what they are singing.

When you look at corner TV stands, you need to make sure that you know exactly what you are getting and what you want to get before making a purchase. Do not just look for a stand that attracts your attention with a cool design. This should play into your decision, but there are other factors that are more important.

The first step is to measure the space that you have in the room. You need to know that the new stand will fit in with your other furniture, that you will not have to rearrange the entire room. This can also help you get an idea of how far out into the room the stand will extend so that you can make sure walking paths are clear.
Next, you need to measure the television. It is going to extend off both sides of the stand, so you have to make sure it will fit without running into the wall on either side. Ideally, you need a stand that can be tight to the corner but which still gives the TV plenty of room to stay away from the walls.
The last thing to consider is how much weight the stand can handle. Your TV should have a listed weight on the box or perhaps on the TV itself. You always want to get a stand that can handle more weight than you would ever put on it. This is especially true for stands that are made out of glass.

Out with the Old and In with the New

The move is complete! We are officially living in Santa Barbara now! We are still unpacking and figuring out if everything we brought will fit in our new apartment. We downsized from a 2300 sq ft home to a little more than 700 sq ft apartment, which mean a LOT of downsizing! It was hard to decide what to keep and what to get rid of. My family had accumulated a ton of stuff over the years, so I knew that most of it had to go.

As my husband and I made decisions on what to do with all of our stuff, I decided that I wanted to try and make some money. I made a pile in my house for a yard sale, but I knew that there were other ways to make some extra money. Not everything sells well at yard sales, so I kept certain things out of that pile. I turned to the internet to help me make some money. Certain things I could sell on Ebay and then I found some specialty sites where I could sell DVDs online. I have found that selling the things I no longer want online, is not that big of a hassle and I can make some extra money.

Some of the DVDs that made it with us!

I was able to have my yard sale, so I made quite a bit of money there. I am still working on selling my other stuff online. The picture above is just some of the DVDs that traveled with us and I am sure that I will be selling more in the next month.

Once our apartment is in order I will give you all a picture tour.
