Back to School Snack & Lunch Ideas

Here is another treat for your kids that sneaks in the veggies. Veggie-Go’s has created a fruit and veggie strip that makes an excellent snack. Very similar to fruit leather, these strips are made with organic fruits and veggies with no added sugar. And their products are all part of the Non-GMO Project! When I was younger, I loved any and all kinds of fruit snacks. They were definitely not all natural due to their bright red color! As a mom, I know my kids want treats and to be like the other kids, so I like when I can find products that are similar to fruit roll ups and fruit by the foot, but are actually way better and nutritious!

Organic Fruit and Veggie Strips with Veggie-Go's

Veggie-Go’s sent me a sampling of their organic fruit strips. Their flavors include Mountain Berry Spinach, Carrot Ginger, Cinnamon Spiced Beet, and Sweet Potato Pie.  The Mountain Berry Spinach is made with all organic raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, spinach, apples, and sweet potatoes. The Ginger Carrot is made with all organic apples, carrots, and ginger. The Cinnamon Spiced Beets is made with all organic apples, beets, sweet potatoes, cinnamon, and flax seeds. The Sweet Potato Pie is made with all organic apples, sweet potatoes, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.  These bars have 17 or 18 calories and all have 2 grams of sugar besides the Carrot Ginger which has 4 grams. As you can see these are an excellent choice for a treat. I like that they don’t add any extra sugar.

My kids like the Mountain Berry Spinach the best. That is probably my favorite too! I am a sucker for anything with berries in it. They also liked the Sweet Potato Pie. Their least favorite was the Carrot Ginger, probably because of the ginger. These fit perfectly in their lunches and on the go. The best thing about these strips is that an adult can enjoy them too! They can be taken in purses or backpacks or even your pocket. They are a convenient way to take your veggies and fruit with you!

You can buy Veggie-Go’s on their website for $27.79 for a 20 pack case. You can also buy them on .
