Hip Peas ~ Natural Bath & Hair Products for Kids {Review/Sponsor Spotlight} #snugbug

When it comes to products for my kids, I always read the ingredients. I don’t want to wash my kids with harmful ingredients or cover their head in chemicals as I try to do their hair. Hip Peas is a company, started by a mom, Stephanie, who was looking for non-toxic bath and body products for her baby and was frustrated that she could hardly find anything and then when she did, that they were ineffective.

After searching without success for a child-friendly product to help, I decided to create my own. With a bachelor’s in biomedical science, a master’s in health care administration, and my “street knowledge” as a conscious mom, I knew I had the scientific expertise, health-focused business training, and passion for the subject to pull it off.

Stephanie created Hip Peas, which currently has 5 bath and hair products for kids and babies with the desire to produce more. I was sent Shampoo & Body Wash, Hair Balm and Curl Tamer. My favorite feature of all her products is the smell! All her products are scented with natural botanical extracts making them a wonderful treat to the senses when you use them. These products are never tested on animals! You can also find all the ingredients to all the products online.

Hip-Peas-Shampoo-and-Body-Wash

The Shampoo & Body Wash is easy to spread through my kids hair. It soothes and moisturizes skin and leaves hair soft and shiny. It is free of parabens, sulfates (SLS), petrochemicals, and phthalates. Nor are there any artificial fragrances or colors. The sweet blueberry smell makes bath time fun! I like using this on my daughter’s hair because it is really thin and sometimes I have a hard time getting shampoos to lather and get through to her scalp. Hip Pea’s Shampoo & Body Wash lathers nicely and it easy to apply, as well as rinse out. The pump also makes is easy to use and mess free!

The Curl Tamer is for my daughter as well. She has hidden curls on the bottom, so I was hoping the curl tamer would accentuate those curls and help the top layer.  It works well on the bottom layer with her ringlets and my daughter’s top layer is just wavy so the Curl Tamer helps me accentuate the waves and the curls. The Tamer will moisturize, enhance and define curls and waves and is ultra-light. It also detangles, tames frizz and eliminates static. It leaves my daughter’s hair feeling soft and manageable. As you have seen in pictures, she has a lot of fly-aways and frizz going on, so this helps keep everything in order! Again it smells like sweet blueberries!

hip-peas-hair-balm1The Hair Balm is for my son. I just recently cut my sons hair short and I have been experimenting with the Hair Balm on certain styles! The balm will hold throughout the day for both boys and girls! It will keep boys hair slicked back or spiked and it will keep girls’ braid and ponytails in place as they go about their day. Again, it smells amazing and is really easy to use in my son’s hair. It is lightweight and I just need a small amount to cover his head.

I love Hip Peas environmentally friendly products! They smell amazing and are easy to use. The products are safe for my kids, which is all I am asking for! You can purchase Hip Pea products online and select stores around the world. The Shampoo & Body Wash is $12.95, the Curl Tamer is $11.95 and the Hair Balm is $12.95. Check out these products and more on Hip Peas website.

Don’t worry, you will get the Detangler instead.} Come back on January 15th to enter! Interested in an extra entry? craddle cap care would be a miracle if it worked on my daughter–she’s had it bad for the last 3 months…otherwise I’d choose the balm to help her hair stay down–she’s always mistaken for a boy since it sticks up; not sure what that has to do with anything, but hey!
