I hate cleaning carpets. HATE IT. We have decided that in the future, when we buy a new house, that we are removing all the carpets from the house except in the bedrooms. And then the rooms will be shoe and food free. Hopefully that will be enough to keep the carpets from needing “shampooing” hardly ever.
