I have been on the search for a natural mascara {that actually works}. I use natural and organic makeup, but mascara is the one beauty product that has been harder for me to commit to just because the ones I have tried don’t hold up as well. I met up with Earth Lab Cosmetics at the NPA Marketplace in Las Vegas in June. They carry mineral makeup and other natural/organic cosmetics and skin care products.
Our Mission
Earthlab Cosmetics was created by Diane Peterson and Jennifer Dillon. This mother and daughter team had a mission to create a makeup line that was full of color and worked well for women of all different skin color, tones and types, by offering the finest natural minerals and raw pigments, derived directly from nature and nothing more!
Their vision is for women to have healthy skin, which is why they have created natural makeup that won’t absorb into their skin and is free of additives, fillers and preservatives. Earthlab Cosmetics offers talc-free, fragrance-free, dye-free, and cruelty-free Mineral Make-up. Natural ingredients are important as is creating small batches which ensures quality. Mineral makeup needs to be applied sparingly, so Earth Lab includes a makeup application instruction sheet.
Earthlab does not micronize our mineral bases, so there are no tiny nano particles that fall into the skin. Dr. Oz recently discussed nano particles on his show. If loose minerals are not micronized they should simply set on the surface of the skin and never make it into the blood stream. Earthlab Loose Minerals are designed to set on the surface of the skin!
I was given their Raw Mascara to try out! This mascara is silky, lash-defining and weightless and provides all day color. There is no clay in the formula, which means no clumping, no flaking and no smudging. It is botanically-enriched mascara that adds a softness to the lashes, while this moisturizing formula conditions the lashes at the same time. It also has no harmful preservatives that can irritate the eyes and is paraben free.
I love this mascara! I wear it everyday and have never had an issue with clumping, or flaking or smudging! My eyelashes definitely look like I am wearing mascara, but they do not look like those voluminizing mascara ads on tv. This is fine with me because I trust what I am putting on my skin. I would rather be using products that contain natural ingredients than compromise and use a product chalk full of preservatives and parabans. Ingredients for their products can be found online.
You can buy Earth Lab Cosmetics on their online store. There are also many retail locations that carry their products in Canada. They are looking to expand in the US, so keep your eyes open for their products at the beginning of next year! The Raw Mascara is currently on sale for $22 if you buy from their online store.
Connect with Earth Lab Cosmetics on their website, online store, and Facebook.

Earth Lab Cosmetics is going to give away one Raw Mascara to one of my readers during the It’s In the Bag Giveaway Hop! Come back November 5th to enter. Interested in an extra entry? Visit Earth Lab Cosmetics and leave a comment below telling me another product you would live to try!
Thank you to Earth Lab Cosmetics for providing the products mentioned in this post for review. Although I received these products at no charge, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
