SunGrubbies Adventure Hat for Kids {Review/Sponsor Spotlight} #SummerCelebration

With summer setting in, I think about my families protection from the sun. Sunscreens only do so much and I don’t like putting harmful chemicals on any of my family members. SunGrubbies is an online store dedicated to providing sun protection for the entire family  They provide sun protection clothes for men, women, and children, as well as hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and more to protect you from the sun’s UV rays. SunGrubbies was started in 1997 by Marta and her family in their home. Growing up in the sun, Marta recognized early on that protection from the sun was desperately needed, especially in a time when broad spectrum sunscreen was being developed and UV protection clothing didn’t exist. The company started out selling only products for kids, but soon discovered that sun protection was desired by all ages. SunGrubbies strives to promote health, happiness, and satisfaction, as well as safety outdoors.

SunGrubbies sent my daughter a pink Sunday Afternoons Kids Adventure Hat, which features a protective neck drape. She loves it and actually wears it around the house! My daughter is very fair skinned and has blond hair, so this hat is perfect for her.  The brim does provide a wide area of protection and I like that the flap which covers her neck and ears. The hat comes in either pink (Bubblegum) or blue (Royal) and in baby, child and youth sizes. The hat provides 50+ UPF and blocks 98% UV. The floatable 4″ wide brim is strategically angled to provide maximum sun protection. The chin strap is adjustable and comes with a Smart Strap that breaks-away with 10 lb. of tension in both the baby and the child sizes (the youth size has a toggle). The hat can conveniently roll-up or be crushed flat for travel.

I feel at ease knowing that my daughter will be protected from the sun when she wears this hat. I also appreciate that SunGrubbies is a company that actually cares about it’s customer’s well-being. Marta and her crew want to promote healthy outdoor living. Skin cancer becomes more relevant as I get older. I think about my mom’s generation that never wore sunscreen and how it is proven now that tans and sunburns are not good in the long run. If my mom could go back in time, knowing what she knows now, I know that she would have protected her skin better. Growing up, I remember my mom slathering my siblings and me with sunscreen. I don’t want my kids to have damage to their skin due to my neglect and disregard to what is known today, so I continue to look for ways to keep my family safe and healthy. I am glad I found SunGrubbies and I appreciate their commitment to keeping people safe outdoors.
