Make Your Own Home Cleaners with Essential Oils

Product was given to me in order to post my honest opinion.

I have been using all-natural home cleaners in my home for many years now, but I want to start making my own. Since I use essential oils daily in my home, why not make a few cleaners with the oils.

Cleaning with Essential Oils

I was given the opportunity to try an amber glass spray bottle from Emmi’s Essentials. It is always a good idea to use glass container when using essential oils, especially the citrus ones. This is the largest amber glass spray bottle I have ever seen! It is 16 oz and comes with a pipette and a decorative labels. The spray nozzle is adjustable and the bottle can be reused over and over again.

Recently known as the Mommy’s Club, the Healthy Home Company has created a line of new products and changed their name to encompass the companies overall focus. My recent review included some sanitizers, multivitamins, and baby products. Since my review, the company has expanded their line to include makeup, cleaning products, deodorant, skin care products, shampoo, lotion, sunscreen, and more. Healthy Home Company’s products are made in the USA with organic, non GMO, EcoCert, and toxic-free ingredients.

Did you know there are over 80,000 toxic chemicals used in the United States? They are in products we use every day to clean our homes, our bodies, and our children. It takes only 26 seconds for chemicals from shampoos, laundry detergent, household soaps, cosmetics, lotions, household cleaners and many more products found in the home, to enter our blood stream.

Washing clothes is not the most enjoyable experience, but when I do, I prefer to use natural products. Roux Maison offers a line of highly concentrated and eco-friendly laundry detergents. They offer three different types of detergents: Sport, Essential, and Delicate. They also offer an 8oz Stain Remover. These detergents work in both standard and HE washers.

Soap Nuts Laundry Detergent in a Concentrated Liquid Form

At my apartment complex we have a community laundry room. Most days I am in there, I see people using chemical laden laundry detergents. I have been using natural products for years, so the strong fake scents make my stomach churn. When I had my own laundry room, I didn’t have to deal with those smells because my detergents were natural and if they were scented, it was with essential oils, which weren’t overbearing. I can’t make everyone else use natural detergents, but I can use them.

What I use to wash my clothes in, matters! I choose cleaning products that are naturally based and don’t leave behind residue. I look for unscented and toxic free products. I have tried soap nuts before and found them effective, but since I don’t have my own laundry room, they are not as convenient to use. I used to leave the bag of soap nuts in the laundry basin so I could reuse them. Now that I trek my stuff back and forth to the laundry room, I look for convenient laundry products.

Homemade Natural Laundry Powder

There are so many homemade laundry detergent recipes on Pinterest!!! I really wanted to make a simple natural one, so I looked through a bunch of different posts and made my own. It works great on every load of laundry.

Homemade Natural Laundry Powder

All you need is a bar of Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap, Borax, and Washing Soda. If you want, you can add a natural oxy boost, I found some at my local re-fill store.

My recipe is a 1:1:1 ratio. Grate the bar of soap, add 1 cup Borax, and 1 cup washing soda. You can choose a scented Dr. Bronner’s soap or you can add some drops of essential oils. I give the canister a good shake before I use it. An average load needs about 2 Tablespoons.

One thing I love about my natural homemade detergent is that there is no dye in it! No bright blue specks in my detergent! No chemicals or harsh additives.

This detergent is easy to make and works well. I hope you like it as much as I do.

UPDATE: Since publishing, I have learned that Borax may not be the best option. Here is more info about Borax. I am looking into replacing the Borax with Baking Soda and I will let you know how that turns out and what my new ratios are.

Keep Your Home Clean with Unique Natural Products

Product was given to me in order to post my honest opinion.

Unique Natural Products

Unique Natural Products was started by 60 year old Don, who set out in his RV in 1987 to sell his newly made Pet Odor and Stain Eliminator product. He had discovered a truly natural way to make carpet cleaner. After 5 years, he had his product in stores across the US. Since then, more products have been created using simple and natural ingredients.

Unique Natural Products currently carries 10 different products that come in a variety of sizes, all of which are made in the USA. Their products carry a bacteria that aides in “digesting” organic waste which is the stain on the carpet or the clog in your drain. All of their products fit unde the categories: Stain & Odor, RV & Marine, Drain & Septic, and Grease & Grime.

Use Eco-Friendly Cleaners on your Stainless Steel Kitchen Appliances

This is a sponsored post.

Buying a reliable cleaning solution for cleaning the appliances in a kitchen is important to most homeowners. Many homeowners choose eco-friendly cleaning solutions to use in their kitchen. Some choose eco-friendly cleaning solutions because they want to avoid using solutions that are harmful to the environment. Plus, they don’t want to put those harmful chemicals on the surfaces in their kitchens. Perhaps they are worried about children and other family members being exposed to harmful chemicals. Here are some other reasons why many homeowners opt for eco-friendly cleaning solutions when buying products to clean the appliances in their kitchens.

Naturally, homeowners want a cleaning solution that makes their stainless steel kitchen items look their best. Eco-friendly cleaning solutions do the job of cleaning and polishing the stainless steel surfaces in a kitchen. A homeowner may use the solution on a stovetop, a stainless steel refrigerator door, a dishwasher door and perhaps an oven door made of the same material. Stainless steel tends to pick up a lot of fingerprints of family members who are frequent visitors to the kitchen. Eco-friendly cleaning solutions can help to remove these fingerprints and other unsightly smudges that appear on stainless steel surfaces. One example of where a homeowner can find eco-friendly cleaning solutions is in a selection of Electrolux accessories.

Natural Laundry Powder for Cloth Diapers

Product was given to me in order to post my honest opinion.

I used to cloth diaper both of my kids. Washing those dirty diapers was not the funnest thing to do, but a frequent necessity. Finding the right detergent was always on my mind. I no longer use cloth diapers since my kids are potty trained. Just because my kids are potty trained, doesn’t mean we don’t have the occasional accident.

Earlier this year I was able to review Molly’s Suds Laundry Detergent and I am happy to announce that they just released a special cloth diaper detergent! Molly’s Suds is a wonderful company dedicated to creating all natural laundry and cleaning products. I was actually able to meet up with them at Expo West Earlier this year. I was interested in their Cloth Diaper Powder because not every detergent is able to get out the ammonia smell left behind in clothes and sheets after an accident.

Get Your Rugs Cleaned with ABC Rug & Carpet Cleaning

This is a sponsored post.

Nothing makes a room stand out more than a beautiful area rug! Most of the time they are placed under tables and seating areas, which means they get heavy traffic. Spills happen and sometimes we can’t get them out with the cleaning supplies we have at home. Seating areas are also heavily trafficed areas in the home, which means that shoes and feet are constantly walking on it. An area rug is meant to beautify an area and when it is looking worn or stained, it doesn’t give the same feeling.
