Buying local is very important to me! Small businesses, craft fairs, and farmers markets are all great examples of where you can buy and support local businesses/artisans.
One of my guilty pleasures is going to craft fairs! I love supporting people that love what they are doing. Plus, I would rather buy from the actual artist than pick something off the shelf at Target! However you choose to buy local, just do it…and we can help!
A big thanks goes to Denio’s Farmers Market & Swap Meet in Roseville, California for sponsoring this giveaway to promote buying from your local farmers markets! This giveaway was organized by The Reynolds Mom. Thank you to MaeGal, MontanaSolarCreations, Made In USA Challenge, Brittleby’s Corner, and Your Thriving Family for also participating in this giveaway and sharing why buying local is important to you!

It’s important to keep the money in your community.
The quality of local food is better! It’s fresher and has been handled less than something shipped across the country.

I buy local to support local businesses & farmers
I feel like I’m getting better quality and I love supporting the local economy!
I like to help support the smaller local companies. They usually taste better and are more organic.
I choose local because of a few reasons. One is that we live in a very rural area with an amazing amount of organic farms, and another of course, is to support those farmers. The plus about where I live is that the local produce and products are actually pretty cheap! I stopped into a Safeway a while back when we were out of town and was amazed at how expensive their produce was!

I like supporting local businesses, & it’s often healthier because some local organic products are a better value than national brands.
I buy local because I like to know where our food comes from and what’s in it.

I buy from a local farm, because I know they grow all their fruits and veggies organically, I can get fresh milk, and pasture raised eggs.
I like supporting local farmers, artists, merchants, etc. because it helps to keep them in business. I prefer buying from small businesses because the quality of their items tends to be much better also.
Even though I appreciate competitive pricing at national retailers, I look for quality and freshness in local providers.

I’m not a huge “buy local” person but, I buy at my local cloth diaper store instead of from all the wonderful online vendors whenever I can. I do that because having a local store is a huge help for families getting started in cloth diapering. They offer classes in cloth diapering and babywearing that aren’t replaced by an online vendor. If I switched to an online vendor the store would go away and my community would lose that resource.
Local foods are definitely far more fresh. Plus, I like supporting my community/neighbors!

I choose to buy locally because it always tastes better, and is generally organic ( at least around here it is..lol) It also fits into my plan to try to avoid chain stores and buying anything “new” for the next year…. everything so far has been fruit and veg stands, u-pick-em farms… you name it
I love local grown produce!

We buy locally to help the area’s economy, to get unique products, and to help the environment because of reduce shipping and thus reduced pollution.
i think it is important to support your community and small business.not to mention the environmental factor.
I buy locally as much as I can because I like knowing where my food is coming from! It’s nice to know it didn’t sit on a truck for days before it got to me. It’s also nice to support your local economy!
To support mom & pop shops!
I think every time we spend our money on something we are voting with that money on what we value. If we only value the lowest prices we will continue to get poor quality items at lower prices…but to me the associated costs of that approach is too high. Buying locally is a way to support my beliefs on sustainability and keeping my money in my community.
