Novica is an online store featuring artisans from all over the world. The store features a wide variety of products including home decor, jewelry, apparel, paintings and more. I think it is great that there are so many items to choose from and each is created and designed by an artist in their home country. When you buy something from Novica, you are actually buying it from the artist. It is actually shipped from the country it was made in. I love that every item at Novica is ethically aquired and that the artist is treated with respect and fairly compensated.
We want to give artists and artisans around the world a global platform to express their true artistic talents and to spur their creativity. And, we want to provide you with access to unique, hard-to-find items at great values that only the Internet infrastructure can allow.
At the deepest essence of our philosophy, we want to create a bridge between you and the many talented artisans across the globe.
We want you to know about who you’re buying from. We want you to feel that attachment to the product and to the hands that created it.
In the spirit of the Internet, let us bring you together.
NOVICA. The World is Your Market.
I was able to choose a couple products to review from Novica. Both of my products came beautifully wrapped! They also came with an artisan story card. That is another thing that I love about Novica…under each listing, it shares the artisan’s story…it makes the experience personable. I feel like I actually met the person who’s product I purchased.
As I was searching through all their products I was impressed by their jewelry section, including their necklaces, earrings and bracelets. I came across a section of bangles in the bracelet section. I loved the way that the Green India bangle bracelet looked so I chose it to review! The bracelet is carved by hand from mango wood by Vipin in India. I love the bracelet. It slides easily on and off my arm and is not too tight, nor will it fall off on its own. I love the color and the thickness! You can see the grain of the wood and the green paint appears as more of a stain. I have been wanting to get a couple bangle bracelets, and I am glad I have this one to start my collection. I love that their is an actual story behind it!
I also was able to review the Happy Elephant cotton handbag. The sling tote shoulder bag is made by Jiap Rojjana from Thailand. The happy elephant symbolizes Thailand and the bag is hand embroidered, features silk-like polyester cords, and has a coconut shell button. The bag has a pocket behind the elephant and also has an inner pocket with a zipper. I was immediately drawn to the colors as I was searching through the bags. I thought the elephant was cute and I liked that it was a shoulder bag. The bag is made with 100% cotton, aluminum, and rain tree wood. The bag is really soft and comfortably sits on my shoulder. The inside of the bag is larger than it appears! The base of the bag is reinforced to provide a flat and sturdy bottom. I can’t wait for all the conversations that are going to start over this bag!
A couple other items I like from Novica are:

Emerald Green glasses made in Mexico

Earthly Nature Cotton Placemats from Bali & Java
I love that they even have an eco-friendly section!

Recycled Paper Bowl from Central America

Cotton Blouse from Thailand

I have previously heard about NOVICA through my National Geographic subscription. I love the uniqueness of their products. I always find about 50 items I would buy for gifts (or for myself). Today the Mint Green Alpaca shoulder bag caught my eye. I love shoulder bags that are different and don’t look like they came from a department store : )

I have visited this site many times. These are just the types of items I love. More of the price of the item gets back to the artisan rather than multiple middle men as is often the case.
