Just what exactly is healthy eating?

It’s not just what you eat, but how you eat it. It’s fresh fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. It’s limiting saturated fats and trans-fatty acids. And it’s lifestyle: exercise, relaxation, and good friends to share a meal with.

Nature’s Path is a company dedicated to bringing you healthy foods and snacks and promoting a healthy lifestyle! There company hasn’t “sold out” and they don’t intend to! They believe in sustainability and treating people well. This family run company will always have organic food with no GMO’s. They have a portion of their products called Envirokids Organics, which are meant specifically for kids, although my husband loves their peanut butter cereal!!!

To be a trusted name for quality organic foods in every home; socially responsible, environmentally sustainable and financially viable.

~Arran Stephens, Founder

I was sent an assortment of Nature’s Path products including cereal, granola and bars. Both my kids and my husband have cereal for breakfast every morning, so we have tried Nature’s Path before. It is hard to find cereals that are good for you and made with quality ingredients at a normal grocery store. I normally have to go to a health food store to find a wider selection of cereals with no preservatives and other junk in them!

My kids absolutely love the Gorilla Munch! There are not many ingredients: organic corn meal, organic evaporated cane juice, and sea salt, which makes it a great healthy breakfast. They are also gluten free! My husband loves this cereal! :) This cereal is similar to Kix, in my opinion. As you can see from the ingredient list, this cereal is hiding nothing. I love the line of kids cereals that Nature’s Path has created. My local health food store only carry a couple of their products, so I do get them every now and then for my kids (and husband).

My kids also love the Honey Oat Crunch Flax Plus! They are crunchy and sweet and perfect for travel. The bars are made with just a few ingredients: rolled oats*, evaporated cane juice*, sunflower oil*, flaxseeds*, honey*, invert cane syrup*, oat fiber*, oat syrup solids* [oat syrup solids*, tocopherols (natural vitamin E)], sea salt. *Organic. This is a classic granola bar! I love the way these taste and would keep them all to myself if I could! These bars are a good snack for on the go or packed in a lunch.

The MMMaple Pecan Granola Bars are delicious! They are sweet and more of a dessert bar in my opinion. I would reach for this if I wanted something sweet and healthy! The bar is made of granola* (rolled oats*, evaporated cane juice*, soy oil*), tapioca syrup*, pecans*, brown rice flour*, maple icing* [evaporated cane juice*, palm kernel oil* and/or cocoa butter*, cultured buttermilk powder* (skim milk*, starter culture), flavor*, non-fat dried milk*, citric acid, caramel color*, natural maple flavor, sea salt, soy lecithin*, annatto extract*, tapioca starch*], invert cane syrup*, dried coconut*, flaxseeds*, acacia gum*, soy oil*, sea salt, evaporated cane juice*, maple syrup*, natural maple flavor, molasses*. *Organic. Once my husband discovers these they will be gone! I don’t think I would send these to school because they are a very soft bar that can get a little sticky if it gets warm. This would be the perfect after school treat though or a treat for mom & dad when the kids are at school!

The Optimum Blueberry Cinnamon Flax Cereal is yummy! My kids like it because it has dried blueberries. The cereal is made of whole wheat meal*, wheat bran*, evaporated cane juice*, soy flour*, flax*, puffed KAMUT® khorasan wheat*, barley malt extract*, soy fiber*, oat bran*, freeze-dried blueberries*, sea salt, cinnamon*, tocopherols (natural vitamin E). *Organic. I will buy my kids healthy “kid” cereal, but they always want what I buy my husband! I am very selective in the cereal I bring in my house for this very reason. My husband and I enjoy eating healthy and organic foods, which is good because our kids are learning by example!

The Pumpkin Flax Plus Granola is made of pumpkin and flax seeds which gives it 450 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids and 1500 mg of Omega-6 fatty acids. The cereal consists of rolled oats*, evaporated cane juice*, soy oil*, brown rice flour*, pumpkin seeds*, flax seeds*, oat syrup solids* (oat syrup solids*, tocopherols), sea salt, molasses*, cinnamon*. *Organic. My whole family enjoys this granola. You can eat it plain, eat it like cereal with milk, add it to yogurt, and so on. My kids like to have it as a mid-morning snack.

I believe that kids need a good start to their day at any age! A healthy breakfast and snacks throughout the day will keep your child’s tummy full and their focus on school and having fun! I think Nature’s Path is a great choice for any family!

I learned that they recently changed their packaging… the cereal boxes are a little bit slimmer to reduce waste, there’s still the same amount of cereal inside. :)
